New Years- DC- 2009- Fun with baby!

Our trip to DC over New Year's included a visit to our good friends, Jeff and Veronica, and meeting their newest family member, Ronen! Ronen was 4 months old (to the day) when we visited!

New Years- DC- 2009

Matt and I had a wonderful visit with my mom & dad over New Year's. We kicked off our visit with a friendly game of Aggravation. Matt's die seemed to have trouble staying on the game table. (Really mom, Matt rolled a "1" ....just the number he needed to get his marble back to base!)

Wow! Look at Dad shaking hands with George Washington! (I had not realized how tall George Washington was...he was over 6' tall!)

Matt and I decided that Lubbock (and its windiness) followed us to DC! The day we visited Mount Vernon it was quite windy (with gusts up to 60mph!). In spite of the wind, we really enjoyed visiting Mount Vernon and would highly recommend stopping by for a visit if you ever find yourself in the DC-Virginia area!

Lunch...Yum!

What a special treat! Early last week, Trina spent the day in Lubbock visiting Lanette (her grandmother, our Great Aunt). Trina treated me and Lanette to a yummy lunch at Olive Garden! Yum! We even saved room for dessert, a delicious slice of lemon cream cake.....Sorry, not even a crumb was left!

Several friends suggested starting a blog, to keep family and friends updated on what we're up to.

We set up the blog (back in 2007! Yikes!) but weren't very diligent about posting comments or pictures on it.

Well, we are going to make a better effort this year (2009!). We had a relaxing Christmas and a wonderful visit to mom & dad Goodrum's over New Year's. Below are me, Matt, and mom in front of George Washington's 16-sided barn at Mount Vernon.
